To compile the source, you need Microsoft Visual C++, version 6 or later.

To compile the manual, you need LaTeX (e.g. MiKTeX)

To compile the everything, load the femm.dsw workspace into Developer
Studio.  Then select "Build | Batch Build" off of the main menu of
DevStudio.  If you do not have LaTeX installed, select all project
configurations except for the "manual" entries and hit the "Rebuild All"
button.  If you have LaTeX installed, you can automatically compile the
manual by checking the configurations for the manual as well.  All debug
versions will be deposited in the Debug subdirectory, and the release
versions will be deposited into the Release subdirectory.
